| Customer Reviews: Much more than the others April 15, 1999 42 out of 44 found this review helpful
I found that this book gave me more information about the foods than any other similar book. It told about the standard nutrients, but it also flagged those foods that were high in antioxidants, folate and calcium. There was a useful part in the begining that explained what all the nutrients were for. It is alot for the money.

This book was VERY helpful for someone like myself who is trying to get in shape. Although I used to count calories, my workout routine now calls for a close watch on carbohydrates and a higher intake of protein. I used to by the mini-mags in the grocery store with calorie and fat content. Those are impossible to find with carbs and proteins. This book was a god-send for me!
Not recommended March 26, 2002 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
I bought this book, along with a number of others, to find out the nutritional values of different foods. Unfortunately, it is nearly impossible to find a specific food item in this particular book, if it is even included at all. There are better alternatives on the market, and I'd recommend choosing one of those. (For example, "The Doctor's Pocket Calorie Fat & Carbohydrate Counter," which is quite small but *loaded* with information.)
