5 out of 5 stars Compatible with similar diet/eating plans   August 19, 2010

I have complete a month of this journal and it has been really helpful to track what I am eating, the number of calories, my energy levels, my physical activity, taking my supplements, my goals, my gratitudes, my energy levels, etc etc. I think I'm a little ADD or something, cause I find this structure really helpful. It can be difficult to track my physical/emotional symptoms to my diet/supplements/physical activity when I don't actually write them down. I like Dr Amen's phsiological/scientific approach to managing your brain and your body. I have kind of combined his diet suggestions with Dr Mark Hyman, Dr Schwartzbein, and the Skinny Bitches to create my own direction depending on how I feel, etc. It is usually at about a month into a diet that I begin to falter, but this journal is keeping me to task. I am being "prescribed" supplements by a Dr. in functional medicine, so I haven't ordered any of the supplements that Dr Amen recommends/sells. They all seem to be pretty consistent with what my own doctor is recommending I take. A great body/mind/soul approach.
